How do I know if I need a new roof?
There are several factors. Some are visible from ground level and others aren’t &em; which means you need to call us! First, if you find shingles on the ground, that’s a big warning sign there may be structural damage. If you are experiencing leaks throughout your home, that is also a major warning sign that you could need your roof to be replaced. A quick look from the ground level should also expose if there are missing or damaged shingles on the roof.
What is the lifespan of a roof?
The lifespan of a roof changes based on several factors: materials, climate, exposure to weather, etc. Typically, fiber cement shingles should be expected to last for about 25 years. Asphalt shingle roofs can be expected to have a lifespan of 20 years. Climate also has a major effect on the lifespan of your roof. In more extreme climates, the change in temperatures throughout the year can deteriorate your roof quickly. Also, exposure to weather such as heavy storms, heavy snow/rain, and even extreme drought can all decrease the lifespan of your roof.
A big storm just came through my area and I think I might need a new roof. What should I do next?
Hail damage isn’t the only damage that can occur to your roof during a storm. Unkept tree branches and clogged gutters can also cause major damage to your roof. If you think you may need a new roof, contact one of our sales associates before you file an insurance claim and let us take a look. We can help you through the next steps and get your home a new roof!
